27 new Beach Cottages at Fort Story’s Cape Henry Inn Recreation complex were designed to offer Soldiers and their families a peaceful retreat along the white sandy shores of the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. The cottages, located among the secondary sand dunes overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, were built using wood frame construction elevated on pile foundations affording a spectacular view of the bay from each cottage. Overall, a total of 18 two-bedroom units and 9 three-bedroom loft units were designed and built in three unit clusters.
