Benefits of Education and Outreach Services:

  • Assists Army youth during their transition and assignment to new installations
  • Encourages positive relationships with the school districts of Army youth

 

Army School Liaison Services(All Ages) Programs assist military students during their transition and assignment to new installations by providing information on local schools, matching incoming youth with a sponsor, and encouraging active parent involvement and positive relationships with their child's school. Outreach services provide the link between installations and surrounding school districts.

Education Support

  • Coordinates education transition-related resources within school and the community
  • Collaborates with parents to ensure academic success
  • Supplies resource materials on primary, secondary and post-secondary education
  • Supports Home School Families

School Liaison

  • Facilitates communication between schools and Army leaders
  • Consolidates school information for military Families
  • Communicates procedures for in and out processing
  • Encourages relationships between schools, military Families, the Garrison, and the community
  • Supports school personnel by providing information concerning
    the military lifestyle
  • Provides access to military resources

Community & Parent Liaison

  • Addresses issues with student registration in the local school system
  • Coordinates education transition resources and points of contact in the school system and community
  • Educates parents on the local school system policies, procedures, programs and schedules

Youth Sponsorship

  • Helps relocated youth become familiar with their new home
  • Provides youth with a sponsor and Family Members with welcome packet
  • Matches sponsors based upon gender, age and interests
  • Encourages sponsors to show the incoming youth around the post and their school
  • Introduces youth to the activities offered by Child, Youth & School Services and the Community Recreation Division
