Youth Services (YS)


U.S. Army Youth Services(Ages 11 - 18 years) Army Middle School and Teen Programs are designed specifically for middle school youth and teens to ensure that the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of youth are addressed, and predictable services provided. YS offers services in the following areas: sports, fitness & health options; life skills, citizenship & leadership opportunities; arts, recreation & leisure activities; academic support, mentoring, and intervention services.

Programs include:

  • Middle School Programs (11-12): Includes before and after school care, youth technology labs, school transition services, summer programs, part-time and hourly care, Operation: Military Kids, SKIES, Character Counts, Boys & Girls Clubs, Sports & Fitness, Kid's World, and 4-H.
  • Teen Programs (13-18): Includes youth technology labs, school transition services, summer programs, Operation: Military Kids, SKIES, Character Counts, Boys & Girls Clubs, Sports & Fitness, Kid's World, and 4-H.
  • Army Youth Programs in Your Neighborhood (AYPN) (11-18): Programs for youth between 11-18 residing in off post communities with limited or no access to Garrison based programs.

The YS delivery system consists of multiple
delivery components:


  • Facility-based programming in the Youth Center
  • Outreach programming, to include Neighborhood Activity Homes
  • Community-based programming and partnerships with other MWR partners and local schools
  • Partnerships with 4-H Clubs
  • Partnerships with Boys & Girls Clubs
