SGT Ericka Escalante (Performer) SGT Escalante started singing at an early age. After joining the Army, she sang with the JRTC and Fort Polk Soldiers Chorus and sang professionally while stationed in Baumholder, Germany. In 2006, she placed second in the Military Idol competition at Fort Hood, Texas. She was the opening act for Tyrese Gibson and the BET Comic View in Killeen, Texas. Her biggest supporters are her three children, Alysia, Tiana and Patrick. Her Soldiers from 13th BIDS (you know who you are) supported her throughout her performance in the Military Idol competition.
