2005

ALL ARMY BATTLE OF BANDS The 2005 All-Army Battle of the Bands contest is coming! This year's contest will feature recreational soldier bands from CONUS and OCONUS installations. The bands advance to regional competitions after winning contests held on their local installations. The US Army Entertainment Division selection committee then picks candidate bands from the IMA regions to attend the final All-Army Battle of the Bands where they will perform against other Soldier bands from around the world in a weekend-long competition full of great music and great fun. 2004

The All-Army Battle of Bands worldwide final competition, was held on 23 October 2004 at Fort Eustis, VA. The successful event is a program element of the US Army Entertainment Division (USAED), and the US Army Community and Family Support Center (USA CFSC). The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) program partners with USAED to sponsor the event.

A total of seven bands participated from Korea, Europe, Northeast , Northwest and Southwest Regions. Judges included a panel of three industry professionals representing a wide range of music industry specialties. Trophies and monetary awards were earned for participation and placement in the contest. Monetary awards are given to the participant’s installation MWR program for improvement and enhancement of their installation music program.

The winners of this year’s contest were:

  • Best of Battle: La Orquesta Esencia (Yongsan, Korea)
  • 2nd Place: From the Ashes (Fort Huachuca, AZ)
  • 3rd Place: Drone (Fort Eustis, VA)
  • 4th Place: Busted Amber (Hohenfels, Germany)

  • Participant Awards:

    • Black Box 60 (Hohenfels, Germany)
    • Joyful Noise (Fort Carson, CO)
    • Dash 20 (Yongsan, Korea)

    Army Entertainment would like to recognize these musicians and vocalists that demonstrated exceptional skills and ability levels on their respective instruments.

    1. Best Drummer: SPCJedidiah Martin (Busted Amber), Hohenfels, Germany
    2. Best Bass Guitar: SPC Aaron Vascimini (Busted Amber), Hohenfels, Germany
    3. Best Lead Guitar: SPC Steven Pugh (From the Ashes), Fort Huachuca, AZ
    4. Best Keyboard: SSG Timothy Robinson, Sr. (Joyful Noise), Fort Carson, CO
    5. Best Vocalist: SFC Dustin Cloos (From the Ashes), Fort Huachuca, CO

Special Thanks - Fort Eustis’ BOSS program played an important role in providing volunteer support for the event. Their assistance in hosting the visiting performers proved invaluable.
