Nintendo Wii! (February-March)

Eat, Drink, Sleep, Wii! Become a Wii Warrior! When everyone was searching for the hottest Christmas present of the year—the Nintendo Wii video game—the Army had predicted the games popularity, purchased 75 of the games, and was gearing up for its March launch of a Wii Tournament at 25 military installations (see list below).Since its November 2006 release, the Wii game has become so popular that it remains difficult to find it in stock. It's strange, it's different, and it's not as powerful as its competitors, but the Nintendo Wii succeeds in its primary mission: it's fun to play.

The Army’s six night Wii competition will include challenges in each of the five Wii Sports, simple but infectious sports games that use the system's wireless controller to allow users swing and mock-throw it to play baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, and boxing. There will be a winner for each sport who will compete in a local finals on the 6th night of the tournament. Overall winner at each location wins a Nintendo Wii game.

Participating installations will have the Wii consoles available for play and practice in the weeks preceeding the tournament.
