Meet the Judges and Celebrity Guests!


GeNienne Samuels (left), back for a second year as co-host, is a huge military supporter as an active participant as a Sweetheart for Soldiers and a Washington Wizard Girl. GeNienne has also been on numerous military tours as a former Washington Redskins Cheerleader.

Victor Hurtado (right), also back for his second year as co-host, served as Production Director for the 2009 U. S. Army Soldier Show.  As Chief Operating Officer of C*A*M*M*O (Center for American Military Music Opportunities) and Vice-President of Artist Development for To The Fallen Records, Victor continues his mission to develop military artists and present opportunities for those artists to perform and work.

 



Retired 12th Sergeant Major of the Army Jack Tilley and co-chairman of the American Freedom Foundation is appearing as an Operation Rising Star judge for his 5th season. Debra Byrd, vocal coach and arranger for American Idol, is back for her third season as a judge.

 

 

Left:  Country music star Michael Peterson, also back for his third season as a judge, received the Bob Hope “Spirit of Hope” award from the USO and the U.S. Army for his outstanding service to the nation.

Right:  Celebrity guest judge Kimberly Caldwell will perform a take a seat at the judges table for the final round of the competion. 
 

 

Left:  Guest Judge, Sean Gilfillan is the founder and CEO of To The Fallen Records.  Sean will be a guest judge during the second round of the finals.  As the world's only military record label, To The Fallen Records is dedicated to producing and distributing the music and stories of those who serve or have served in our nation's military services.

Right:  Family member and veteran Joyce Dodson, 2008 Rising Star winner will perform at the Winner's Reveal Show which airs Nov. 21, 2009.

     



Sweethearts for Soldiers, a touring dance squad made up of former NFL cheerleaders, will perform and sign autographs at the final round of the competition. Members of the Washington Wizards will be on hand to meet DC Metro area guests who are part of the live studio audience. Show host GeNienne Samuels is one of the squad.
