Outdooor Fun

Being a Soldier means serving your country to maintain the liberties and freedoms of all its citizens. Yet this doesn't mean you should give up your rights to having the same quality of life as everyone else. Enjoying a variety of outdoor activities allows you to still feel like you are a part of the community, relieves stress, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and lets you take part in doing something fun with your spouse and children to maintain strong family bonds.

Getting Engaged in Outdoor Fun

There are numerous programs tailored for Soldiers, their Families, retirees and civilians wherever they are stationed around the world. From golfing to swimming to horseback riding or special sports programs tailored to Wounded Warriors, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) has a variety of programs for the Army community:

Horse Stables

Equestrian Services and Horse Stables: Do you own a horse or always wanted to learn to ride one? Many Army garrisons are located near horse stables where you can board your privately-owned horse, learn how to ride one through special clinics, and take guided trail rides.

Feet First Water Safety: If you have a love of water sports, jump in Feet First with Family and MWR and learn more about water.

Golf: With over 48 golf courses around the world, you can get out on the putting green to practice a few strokes or challenge your friends to a game. There are also group and individual lessons available for people of all skill levels.
