  • Statement from bowling center manager or league secretary verifying league average(s) (minimum 21 games required)
  • Copies of League Standing sheets
  • Participation history of non-standard leagues and tournaments
  • Bowling Awards

Selection is made by application only. Application should contain detailed information reflecting competition experience using the criteria below, to include actual pin count. Candidates are ranked based upon experience and accomplishments using the following factors (ranked in order of importance):

Must be a member of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). Provide membership number and expiration date in the application

  • Current league average
  • Minimum: Men - 200; Women - 150
  • League averages for the last three years (www.bowl.com)
  • Qualifying averages at more than one bowling establishment
  • Current sport league average, if available (minimum 21 games)
  • Tournament bowling last three years (list names of tournaments, date, city/state/country, bowling establishment, and attach final standings with pin count)
  • U.S. Army team member (final standings)
  • U.S. Army trial camp participant (final standings)
  • Attitude and sportsmanship demonstrated in prior Army Bowling competition(s)
  • Coach's knowledge of bowler
  • Written referral by Garrison Bowling Manager
  • Completeness, legibility, and timeliness of application packet

All bowlers should be keeping their bowling history any time they participate in regular leagues, sport leagues, tournaments, and any other bowling venue. This should accompany the application.

Submitting your current high average doesn’t show your skill set or separate you from other potential applicants. This is why you should keep copies of your participation in tournaments, leagues, etc. This information allows us to review your history, check participation in tournaments such as USBC Nationals (Open or Women’s), City/State, PBA regionals or others. It gives you, the Soldier athlete, a bowling packet or resume. This is much like applying for a job, you should be able to show what you have achieved, participated in, etc.
