Softball

All-Army Softball Selection Criteria

Men's Softball

All experience listed on the application should be detailed, reflecting experience competing in the sport of Softball. Credentials must reflect, as a minimum, those basic skills that would enable development within a three-four week time frame to compete at ASA Class "A” and Major Division competition.

Candidates will be ranked based upon experience and accomplishments in the sport including such factors as (ranked in order of importance):

  • Previous Men’s Pro-League member
  • Past Armed Forces Team member
  • Past All-Tourney Team member at Armed Forces Championship
  • ASA “Major” level starter
  • Past All-Army Team member
  • ASA “A” level starter
  • Division I starter
  • Referral by past All-Army Softball player
  • Sports Director Recommendation
  • ASA “B” level starter
  • Division II starter
  • Military post team member
  • All-State honors
  • All-District honors
  • ASA “C” or lower starter
  • Starter at Community or Junior College Team
  • Starter in High School
  • Completeness, legibility, and timeliness of application packet

Individuals must reflect an experience factor in which the applicant can fit into the Coach’s offensive and defensive team priorities.  

A proven commodity from previous year’s experience, team membership, statistics, selection to higher-level competition, i.e., Armed Forces and National Championship.

Economics: This is a Trial Camp - not a Training Camp; individuals whose credentials cannot be validated will not receive priority consideration.

The coach will screen all applications and make a recommendation for selection.

 

 

Women's Softball

All experience listed on the application should be detailed, reflecting experience competing in the sport of Softball (preferably slow-pitch experience). Candidates will be ranked based upon experience and accomplishments in the sport, including such factors as (ranked in order of importance):

  • Previous Women’s Pro-League member
  • Past Armed Forces Team member
  • Past All-tourney Team member at Armed Forces Championship
  • ASA “Major” level starter
  • Past All-Army Team member
  • ASA “A” level starter
  • Division I starter
  • Referral by past All-Army Softball player
  • Sports Director Recommendation
  • ASA “B” level starter
  • Division II starter
  • Military post team member
  • All-State honors
  • All-District honors
  • ASA “C” or lower starter
  • Starter at Community or Junior College Team
  • Starter in High School
