The top 12 Operation Rising Star Finalists will now advance to the Finals (airing on this website and the Pentagon Channel, beginning 11 December).
The top 12 will need audience votes to help advance them in each round of the competition.
The audience will be able to vote online and the votes will count for 50% of the competitors' final score.

SSG Kelli Rankin

SSG Kelli Rankin is originally from Little Rock, AR. Rankin has been singing since she was about 5 or 6, has sung the National Anthem at various ceremonies and the Army Birthday Ball. Rankin was a contestant for the Area IV Operation Rising Star contest in 2010.
Q: What genre of music is your favorie?
A: Christian and Gospel Music
Q: When did you realize you had a talent for singing?
A: When I was about 6 I had to sing at church, "Oh, How I Love Jesus."
Q: What is your all-time favorite song?
A: I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston
Q: What importance has music played in your life?
A: Music has kept me sane. In hard times, singing has given me an outlet, peace and kept my mouth from saying things I should'nt :-). |

Operation Rising Star is a vocal competition hosted by US Army Family and MWR Programs. Army Garrisons from around the world hosted competitions in the summer of 2011. Twelve of the top contestants from around the Army were selected by a panel of judges to advance to the Final competition, airing on this website, beginning 11 December 2011.
