Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month
Every April, both military and civilian communities come together to raise awareness and prevent sexual harassment and sexual assault. The Army’s 2024 Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month theme is “Change Through Unity: Empower. Protect. Prevent.” Our campaign delivers these key messages:
Positive and supportive relationships, along with a sense of connectedness, foster trust and security, which are essential to preventing harmful behaviors. To collectively build a cohesive and healthy environment, Soldiers at all levels should take the following steps:
All members of the Army community have a responsibility to foster a culture of trust and connectedness. It is expected that everyone will contribute to enhancing the positive and healthy aspects of Army culture, with a focus on preventing and, ultimately, eradicating sexual harassment and sexual assault. A healthy work environment, where everyone’s rights and abilities are respected and sexual violence and harassment are not tolerated, benefits everyone.
