Current, active alpine skiers are ranked by the USSA using the FIS point ranking system  can be found by clicking here

All interested applicants shall submit a race history/resume not to exceed one page in length to: usarmy.jbsa.imcom-hq.mbx.army-sports@mail.mil

Biathlon

Current, active men and women US biathletes are ranked by the USBA. Rankings can be found at: http://www.teamusa.org/US-Biathlon/Ranking/National-Ranking.aspx

NG Biathlon is working with the Ethan Allen Biathlon Club (EABC) to host the North American Cup (NORAM) biathlon championships.  The event is held at the Camp Ethan Allen Training Site (CEATS) in Jericho, VT. Information about the event can be found at: http://www.eabiathlon.org/

The NORAM Championship event is designated as the US Winter CISM Trials and it is open to all eligible (USBA athletes) from all US Armed services.  Please contact  usarmy.jbsa.imcom-hq.mbx.army-sports@mail.mil if you intend to compete at these Winter CISM Trials.  Please register for the event using the EABC race invitation file (posted at the above referenced URL).  NG Biathlon will correspond with applicants and their proponent agencies to discuss funding and orders processing on an individual basis.

For biathletes unable to attend and compete at the US Winter CISM Trials, team selection will follow the current model of USBA Olympic team selection process, one that spans multiple months and multiple racing opportunities.  The USBA model is most akin to that used by elite European programs and it is the most favorable to date with participating athletes.  The model does include “coaching subjectivity” in weighting performance at multiple events and the NG Biathlon coaches will serve as the deciding committee for the final CISM biathlon team selection.

Cross-country (Nordic) skiing

NG Biathletes do compete in cross-country races annually at the aforementioned international military competitions.  Per the Winter CISM event invitation, ten (10) male and five (5) female biathletes and/or Nordic skiers are permitted in the delegation.  Current, active Nordic skiers are ranked by the USSA using the FIS point ranking system. Rankings can be found at:

http://www.fis-ski.com/uk/disciplines/cross-country/fispoints.html

NG Biathlon will work with all delegation members to directly fund NG Airmen and Soldiers or to seek funding from other athlete and staff DOD proponent agencies.

NG Biathlon will match the team composition and event criteria from the Winter CISM invitation with the applicant pool and select a team based upon FIS ranking, race resume and available slots in the delegation.  NG Biathlon will correspond with applicants and their proponent agencies to discuss funding and orders processing on an individual basis.
