Aquatics Training Program

Aquatic Training Facilities are a key component of mission readiness.  Army Aquatic Training Programs are required to provide unit water survival training, enhance Soldier swimming skills, rehabilitate wounded warriors and support the general health of the military community.  The Army emphasizes the importance of high levels of physical capability for the occupational tasks that Soldiers are required to perform by designating this program Category A, Mission Sustaining.

Recreational Swimming
Provides Soldiers, DA Civilians, Family members and retirees demand-driven activities and services that promote fitness and recreation and build life skills, such as adult/child learn to swim, aerobic activities, both leisure and competitive swimming, as well as life guard training and water safety instruction. 

Indoor Swimming Pool 
Used for aquatic training and recreational swimming programs.  This name is used for standalone indoor swimming pool facilities; pool areas located within physical fitness facilities are considered part of the fitness center.  

Outdoor Swimming Pool 
Designed primarily for recreational use, but capable of serving as a military training and athletic conditioning location.
