DoD YMCA Military Initiative

DoD has contracted with the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) to fund YMCA memberships at participating YMCAs throughout the United States and Puerto Rico for the following groups:

* Active Duty Title 10 Personnel at Independent Duty Stations

* Relocated Spouse of Deployed Active Duty Personnel

* Deployed National Guard and Reserve Personnel (Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps)Deployment must be for a minimum of 6 months.

* Community Based Warrior Transition Unit

* Respite Child Care

1/31/2012 Calway leads military runners in U.S. Olympic Marathon Team Trials

U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program runner Capt. Kelly Calway carved five minutes off her personal best and led all military runners with a 25th-place finish in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Marathon Team Trials on Jan. 14.

U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program Staff Sgt. John Nunn earned a berth in the London Olympic Games by winning the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for 50K Race Walk with a time of 4 hours, 4 minutes, 41 seconds in Santee, Calif., on Jan. 22.

USAG BW Family & MWR participates in 2012 Arts & Crafts Celebration and the 70th Anniversary of the US Army’s FMWR Arts & Crafts Program.
