 Community Service: The BOSS committee may elect to participate in community programs or projects that make a difference in the lives of others, in the community, and ultimately, in themselves. The service will be voluntary in nature and in accordance with the installation volunteer program. The program can be implemented in support of existing or established volunteer programs or programs developed by the BOSS committee.

 -BOSS Soldiers can be awarded MOVSM- Military Volunteer Service Medal for BOSS volunteerism, AR 672.20 Chapter 9 -Department of the Army (DOA)  Awards for Public Service -DOA, (military) MVOSM, AR-600-8-22

Partnerships in Education (PIE) creates a volunteer network of resources, installation and community members who have a vested interest in the educational success of military connected youth.

A major component of PIE is the connection between schools and military volunteers.

PIE is facilitated by MWR School Support Services. School Liaison Officers are the heart of School Support Services and the Army POC for PIE.

A new opportunity for earning BOSS volunteer points is now available. BOSS organizations in Europe may participate in this program by having Soldiers support students in a variety of ways depending upon the local school's needs or BOSS members' availability, preferences, and special talents/skills.

It is hoped that not only will students benefit, but Soldiers will derive a great deal of satisfaction, esprit de corps, and increased morale by being part of a positive and enduring impact on the education and well being of military connected children.

     BOSS Team Size Bonus Points___

     0 -50 members  = 30 pts

     51 -100 members = 20 pts

     101 or more members =  10 pts
